Guidelines for Authors

General Guidelines

HTR is a refereed journal, and all decisions will be made by the assessing editors, the editorial advisory board and the chief editors. With the exception of papers that have been presented at the Humanities and Technology Association (HTA) Conference and consequently may have been heard by the referees, papers are assured blind review. There are no page costs for accepted manuscripts.

HTR is available both in print and electronic media and all work published in HTR will come under a Creative Commons “Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives” license. [Authors should consult the Creative Commons website (www.creativecommons.org) for further information.]

All submissions should be prepared for a blind review. Avoid ampersands. Footnotes should be kept to a minimum. Do not use any special formatting tools.

Submissions should be sent by email as an MSWORD 2007 attachment to Darrell Arnbold, Editor, HTR, Department of History, Philosophy and Global Studies, St. Thomas University, Miami Gardens, FL: darnold@stu.edu.

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should follow Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (sixth edition). Articles should be approximately 6000 words; but this guideline is flexible.

Book Review Submission

Authors wishing to submit book reviews are urged to write with the above interdisciplinary framework in mind. Reviews should include the name of the work reviewed, author of work reviewed, place of publication, publisher, date of latest publication, number of pages, and cost.

Book reviews should be 1500-2100 words in length and they should provide a substantive assessment, as well as a critical analysis, of the book’s theme. Reviews should be on books that have been published within two years of the journal volume in which they will appear

Inquiries should be addressed to:
